Unnoticed

“Two sparrows are sold for a penny, yet not one of them will fall to the ground without God’s consent. I am more valuable than many sparrows. Therefore, I am calm and peaceful, because I am trusting God’s incredible ability to care for each detail of my life. He knows the number of strands of hair I have or should have had.” Matthew 10:29-31 (Personalized)
According to the Cambridge Dictionary, unnoticed means “not seen, or not attracting any attention.”
My grandfather was quiet and reserved. Although, he had moments where he would strike up conversation to reflect on memories or a task that someone needed to do. Every time I would leave, he would say, “Be careful on the road;” and “Don’t pick up any strangers.” He made sure to take care of us in our younger days even though he had ambitions to being a millionaire. His eyes were very attentive to what was happening around him and we often jested that he only pretended that he could not hear.
Living to the age of ninety-nine when ‘three score and ten’ is the average human lifespan is no small feat. Psalms 90:10-12 (TLB) says, “Seventy years are given us! And some may even live to eighty. But even the best of these years are often empty and filled with pain; soon they disappear, and we are gone. Who can realize the terrors of Your anger? Which of us can fear you as He should? Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are; help us to spend them as we should.”
When my grandmother passed away, my grandfather said an Angel had visited him and told Him that someone would pass away and to be strong. Whilst we feared that He would follow soon after, He had a peace and a quiet resilience about Him. That encounter showed me that we are not unnoticed by God. He saw it fit to send a message of comfort and hope to Him.
How many of us walk this earth thinking that we are unseen and unheard? God tells us that the hairs on our head are numbered (Matthew 10:30). He would’ve died to save the one (Matthew 18:14). He knew when virtue left Him when a hand touched the hem of His garment in faith for healing (Luke 8:46). He sees you now where you are and He sees the path ahead.
In Psalm 139:1-18, David talks about how God knows everything about Him, how He could never be lost to His Spirit, how He made Him in the womb and wonderfully complex. Verses 16 to 18 says, “You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in Your book! How precious it is, Lord, to realize that You are thinking about me constantly! I can’t even count how many times a day Your thoughts turn toward me. And when I waken in the morning, You are still thinking of me!”
“And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won’t He more surely care for you, O men of little faith?” Matthew 6:30 (TLB)

“If you feel unheard or unnoticed, then your divine assignment requires you to go against the grain and set forth your own unique path.” - Robin S. Baker
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being in the details. I can trust that not one of us goes unnoticed, even those who now sleep, You do not forget them. X marks the spot where they lay until the resurrection day. You record every tear we cry and you are acquainted with our fears, cares and sorrows. Help us to lay hold of Your promises in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“God often works in the unseen. Just because we can’t see it or feel it doesn’t mean He isn’t working.” - Lysa Terkeurst.
“Trust that God is in the details and believe with all your heart that one day you’ll see His perfect plan for you fall into place.” – Tracie Miles
“...The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” – 1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV)
Be blessed to be a blessing.

Amen and Amen. In fact, as one preacher indicated some years ago, God knows the exact hair (e.g. #2009) caught in the comb when we comb our hair. He is so focused on us!
