“May everyone that I encounter have provision and prosperity, vitality and longevity. May there always be peace in their corner and community.” 1 Samuel 25:6 Personalized
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, to partake means “to take part in or experience something along with others.” Communion means “an act or instance of sharing.” There are many instances in the Bible where Jesus communed with others and many more stories that have not been written
(John 21:25)
There is a common thread that ebbs and flows through each of us, whether we care to admit it or not, which finds its’ root in Jesus. Through a shared collective, though by varying individual experiences, we are drawn to the One who created us.
Saul, on his way to Damascus, experiences a transformation that changed him from persecutor to preacher of the gospel. Acts 17:28, reminds us that we are God’s offspring; and that in Him, we move and have our being. God desires a relationship with us. Jesus called the disciples to work alongside Him in His mission, and He calls us today.
He bids us to love each other, not to turn a blind eye when someone is in need, to lift Him up and experience His goodness for ourselves. He invites us to commune with Him and together as brothers and sisters in the faith.
Communion in action is following Jesus’ method. To address the needs of others and to bid persons to follow him. Each year, we are called to take part in ministry with others around the world in acts of service.
“I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can see something of the future He has called you to share. I want you to realize that God has been made rich because we who are Christ’s have been given to Him!” Ephesians 1:18, TLB
Where were you when you met Jesus?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of communion. We have opportunities where we can connect with You and to others in spirit and in truth. Teach me how to love without hypocrisy. Show me how to be patient and compassionate. Thank You for being a constant companion and friend. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
“Experiencing terrible pain opens our hearts and minds to express compassion for other people and communion with ourselves.” Kilroy J. Oldster
“The most important part of prayer is not the result it produces, but the intimacy it creates.”
― Kingsley Opuwari Manuel
“Witness calls for withness, the complete opposite of detached observation... To receive the witness of another is to enter into a vision that isn't accessible to us in isolation; we realize ourselves as members of one another and feel compelled to act accordingly, finding that we can't easily live with ourselves if we don't.”
― David Dark
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John 13:34, 35, NLT
Be blessed to be a blessing.
