My Steps are Ordered

“You have done so much for me, O Lord. No wonder I am glad! I sing for joy O Lord, what miracles You do! And how deep are Your thoughts.” Psalm 92:4-5, TLB

“Your steps are not random, and your path is not unnoticed.”

Life is filled with decisions. What should I wear? What should I do? Some decisions almost feel automatic; without much thought or consideration. Others require prayer, research, counsel and guidance.

Mothers are no exception. From what to cook to what decisions must be taken to shape their children’s future, each day is decision after decision.

Psalm 105 recounts how God ordered the steps of individuals to bring His plans to fruition, keep His promises and save His people. 

God sees what each mother will face: each trial, heartbreak and moments of uncertainty, sickness and accidents, sacrifices and obstacles. He sees it all. Every tear is recorded in His book. He also hears the prayers for healing, protection and provision. He sees the moments of laughter and learning, joy and journeys. He’s ever ready, attentive and navigating our lives for His glory and our testimony. 

What often looks as a chance encounter or moment, has oftentimes been orchestrated by His Divine hand. Jochebed, Hannah, Eunice, Elizabeth, Mary - the mother of Jesus and countless others can testify to God’s providence and care.

I dedicate this devotion today to the sister of one of my readers, who shared that God ordered her steps at the right time to get the medical attention she needed to save her life!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your love and watch care. We have You as the example to show love with discipline, mercy with justice, compassion with long-suffering. We thank You for ordering the steps of mothers to take care of those You grant them. Give them Your peace in troubling times, Your comfort in moments of distress and sorrow, and Your love in moments where they feel unseen and unappreciated. Bless them Lord and their households. May they be filled with Your joy and covered with Your protection. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
