Your Next Chapter

What I love about the Bible is how vast it is to give us guidance, hope and promises to help us on life’s journey. I’ve been thinking a bit about transitions and marking new chapters in my life, some public, others quiet victories and moments.

Joshua Chapter 1 begins - “After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide…” The beginning of Joshua’s moment is preceded by the end of his mentor Moses. In Joshua 1:9, God says to him, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

I have seen the Lord’s hand in my life and in some of the paths I felt led to take. I’ve seen where one door closed another opened. What seemed like things coming to an end only made way for beautiful beginnings of something else.

Yes, the same God who spoke to Joshua, still speaks today. He is “the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.” Revelations 22:13. I take comfort in knowing that  “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

I thank God for the reminder that as I experience endings, beginnings take shape. I can maintain an attitude of gratitude knowing He makes all things beautiful in His time. ‘Endings are for gratitude, beginnings are for faith.” John Piper. Whatever you face today, I pray that you see God’s hand working things out for you in your next chapter.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your mercy and compassion. Like the Prophet Jeremiah, we stand in awe of how great Your faithfulness is. ‘New every morning’, we have the opportunity to grow in grace. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
