You Are Greater

A few years ago, I began actively working on responding versus reacting and seeking to understand why I do what I do. Seeing the damaging effects both to and by persons, from those who do not seek such a work was a catalyst. Though, I am neither exempt nor immune to this; through introspection and asking the Holy Spirit to reveal the areas I need to work on, I fail daily and overcome and keep going again.

With everything going on around us, it may be difficult to recognise what’s happening within us as we develop in our relationship with God. Overwhelmed by what life throws at us or sometimes just by interacting with others; we may feel tempted to lose our cool or let people have it. Despite how it appears, God is in control. The Bible gives much wisdom and insight into how we should respond and why.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds.” 2 Corinthians 10:4 KJ21.

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices.” Psalm 37:7 ESV

“You will not have to do anything but stay calm. The Lord will do the fighting for you.” Exodus 14:14 ERV.

“All you who fear the Lord, trust the Lord! He is your helper and your shield.” Psalm 115:11 NLT

As we move from one level of growth to another, we may feel more and more weighed down by the adversary. In those moments, I will remember who You are and whose I am. I will be still. I will be calm. I will throw on the garment of praise. I will magnify Your name, O God – for You are Greater.

Dear God, please help me to remember that You are in control. Greater are You who is within me than who is in the world. Greater is Your plan for my life than any trap of the enemy. Greater is Your love than any hate I can face. Greater is Your peace than anything sent to disturb me. Greater are Your shoulders than the trials that weigh me down. Greater is my praise than my problems. Thank You Lord for answered prayers, purpose and promises. In Jesus’ name,
