I am who I am by God’s good will and favour, and it is because of His blessings and unmerited favour I am doing good works and bearing much fruit. Yet I cannot boast about the good works or the fruits, because it is His grace that enables me. 1 Corinthians 15:10 (Personalized)
According to Ai Overview, Unmerited favour is defined as “divine generosity towards the unworthy.” Grace, according to the dictionary is “the unmerited favour of God toward mankind.”
“For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.” John 3:16, 17, TLB
Jesus is the reason for the season.
We are undeserving of His great love and sacrifice, but He did it anyway because He loves us. When grace found us, we were dirty and filthy, but mercy enshrouded us with His robe of righteousness. Love covers our sin and faith helps us to step forward again and again in the right direction.
I take this time to remember why Jesus came. In a time when the world looks for ways to replace God’s presence, the story of His birth and unmerited favour rings through.
My word for this year was Bloom. It was one I kept private and I remember wondering if the word came because God was giving me my flowers. I can testify of God’s unmerited favour, when I reflect on the spaces in which He has placed me, and people He has sent my way to encourage me to live in my purpose.
“Jesus’ unmerited favour will protect, deliver, prosper, bring restoration to and provide for you. His unmerited favour will transform you into wholeness, and it is the goodness of God, not your striving and self-efforts, that will lead you to live victoriously for His glory.” - Joseph Prince
“A true understanding of grace – of God’s unmerited favour – always provokes a life of gratitude and obedience.” - R.C. Sproul
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your mercy, grace and unmerited favor. You sent Your Son Jesus into this world, so that we could be saved and have everlasting life. May we lift up His Name in every season and never cease to speak of His goodness. He came as a babe, lived among men, died and lives again for us until we can be reunited for eternity. All because of Your love. Thank You. In Jesus name, Amen.
“He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.” - Titus 3:5, NIV
“God’s mercy and grace give me hope for myself, and for our world.” - Billy Graham
“Grace is not a reward for faith; faith is the result of grace.” - John Blanchard
“God’s grace is His unmerited favor toward the wicked, unworthy sinners, by which He delivers them from condemnation and death.” - John MacAuthur
“May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting comfort and hope, which we don’t deserve, comfort your hearts with all comfort, and help you in every good thing you say and do.” - 2 Thessalonians 2:17,18, TLB
Be blessed to be a blessing.
