Tune my Heart

Tune My Heart - Illustration

As I tune my heart to Your promptings…, as I listen to Your voice…, I am hearing Your directions; I am responding to Your call. You are leading. You are guiding in the way that I should go. Isaiah 30:21 (Personalized)

I smiled as I typed the above personalized text. Memories of listening to God’s promptings flashed across my mind.

To experience being spirit-led and to watch it unfold truly leaves me speechless.

Like David in Psalm 8:4, I am left to exclaim “what is mankind that You are mindful of them, human beings that You care for them?”

One of my favourite hymns is Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing by Robert Robinson.

“Come, Thou Fount of every blessing;

Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;

Streams of mercy, never ceasing,

Call for songs of loudest praise.

Teach me ever to adore Thee,

May I still Thy goodness prove,

While the hope of endless glory

Fills my heart with joy and love.”

I love this hymn, because it has become a prayer of my heart. I am grateful of God’s goodness and grace towards me as well as humbled by the opportunities He has sent my way. One thing I try to do each week is reflect with gratitude. Gratitude isn’t a distraction from life’s challenges; it keeps what’s important in focus. It helps us to weed and tune out those things sent to weaken our countenance and peace.

I consider myself to be an ambivert. Whilst I enjoy meaningful interaction from time to time, I love those moments where I can be alone and have quiet time. In these quiet moments, I find that renewal and refreshing from God. I am reminded that I am not alone and He is concerned about me.

“To hear the whisper of God you must turn down the volume of the world. Find time to disconnect from everything around you and be still in His Presence today. He is waiting for you to draw near.” - Unknown.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You Lord for those moments when I hear Your still small voice. Thank You for revelation and visions. Tune my heart to Your promptings and help me to walk in obedience. I praise You and I lift Your Name on high. Thank You for Your grace and mercy. In Jesus name, Amen.

“I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.” Jeremiah 24:7, NIV

“My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever.” Psalm 73:26, NLT

“Your heart doesn’t stay in tune by accident. Every day, the world’s trying to pull your strings. You need the Lord to keep tuning you!” - Joyce Meyer

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him.” Psalm 28:7, NIV

Be blessed to be a blessing.
