See Me Through

Trouble. Trouble. Trouble.

It feels like everywhere you turn there is trouble. 

Sometimes I wonder if I would have to go to a deserted place to find peace, but God reminds me that He can offer peace even amid trouble. Why do I worry?!? Worry robs and distracts us; it drains the very energy from our spirit that can be used to focus on what matters.

Exodus 14:14, TLB reminds us that “The Lord will fight for you, and you won’t need to lift a finger!” In 2 Chronicles 20, King Jehoshaphat is badly shaken awaiting the pending onslaught of war. Word reached him that “a vast army” was marching against him. He summoned the people to prayer and fasting and He called to remembrance all that God had done to bring them to that place. Vs 12 says “O our God, won’t You stop them? We have no way to protect ourselves against this mighty army. We don’t know what to do, but we are looking to you.” 

I found myself asking such a question once and again up to recently.  I trusted God to see me through that situation and I know He will as well for this one. 

Verses 13 to 24 say that the Spirit of the Lord comes upon one man who tells the people not to be afraid, for the battle is not theirs but the Lord’s. They won’t need to fight, just “take their places; stand quietly and see the incredible rescue operation God will perform for them.” The people are led by the choir on their way to the battle site and when there, they realise the victory has already been won.

It is a fitting reminder for me to praise God through my trials and troubles and believe and trust that He will see me through. I only need to be still. Maybe, you’re also going through a situation that has you troubled. My prayer is that God will bring you through it that only praise will fill your lips because of your deliverance.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for seeing me through each high and low moment in my life. When I am troubled, I know You will see me through and bring peace to my restless spirit. Thank You for always being there, I know I can count on You. Thank You for grace, mercy and strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
