In other words, God was reconciling the world to Himself through Christ, by not counting people’s sins against them. He has trusted us with this message of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:19 CEB
Salvation. Peace. Assurance. Reconciliation.
Reconciliation, simply put, is defined as the restoration of friendly relations. Dictionary.com

Today, much of the world will celebrate Christmas Day. Regardless of its origins, the fact remains that Jesus came to earth as a baby in human flesh and died for our sins.
What do you reflect on this day?
One aspect I like about the holidays is that it seeks to bring people together. Oftentimes, we’re so caught up with the busyness of life that we seldom are intentional about the quality of time we spend with each other. We seek to let bygones be bygones and as far as possible, live peaceably with each other.
God wants to be reconciled to us too! As I ponder on the parable of the Prodigal Son, the Father waited for his son even before the son ever thought of returning. Or in the parable of the lost sheep, the Shepherd actively seeks after the one to restore them to the fold. God extended His love to us before we were even ready to acknowledge Him.
“That’s what love does - it pursues blindly, unflinchingly, and without end. When you go after something you love, you’ll do anything it takes to get it, even if it costs everything.” - Bob Goff
Christ is able to save to the uttermost. He addeth intercession now to the atonement which he hath already made once for all. What a blessed apparatus of reconciliation with God! He who pleadeth for us at God’s right hand is omnipotent to save – and willing as He is able
-Thomas Chalmers
God did not wait for a change of heart on our part. He made the first move. Indeed, He did more than that. He did all that was necessary to secure our reconciliation, including our change of heart. Even though He is the One offended by our sin, He is the One who makes amends to Himself through the death of Christ. - Jeff Bridges
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for sending us hope and peace and love, restoration and reconciliation in the person of Your Son, Jesus Christ. As we fellowship with friends and family or as we mourn the loss of those who’ve passed on or go on about our day, help us to remember Your great sacrifice and to count the cost. In Jesus name, Amen.
I believe relationships can be restored, hurts can be healed, pain can be eased, sickness can be cured, mistakes can be corrected, love can be rekindled, sins can be forgiven, because what is impossible for humans is possible for God. Luke 18:27 personalized
“Consider how precious a soul must be, when both God and the devil are after it.”
- Charles Spurgeon
