“I am encouraged because God has promised to go before me. He has pledged to be beside me. He is leading, guiding and protecting me. Today, tomorrow and always.” Deuteronomy 31:8 (Personalized)

What my eyes can’t see.

Have you ever asked God to reveal what could not be seen with the human eye to you? I have.

The King of Aram sends men to capture Elisha after he helps the King of Israel to constantly thwart his plans. He sent horses and chariots by night and surrounded the city. 2 Kings 6:15, 16 (NIV) says, ‘when the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my Lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked. “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

Oftentimes, I ask myself what I can’t see when challenges and unknown variables come my way. Where do I need to tap into faith and trust in God? “And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full or horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” 2 Kings 6:17, NIV

I can have confidence that the God of Elisha is the God I serve today. When I feel surrounded, I do not have to despair because His favour surrounds me like a shield. His goodness and mercy follow me. I can be still and know He is God. My prayer can bloom to full praise, because I trust in His promises.

“When we pray, we engage the power of God against the devil. When we worship, we do what Satan himself did not do: we place God on the throne. When we pick up the sword of Scripture, we do what Jesus did in the wilderness. He responded to Satan by proclaiming truth (Matthew 4:1-11) ...Satan will not linger long where God is praised, and prayers are offered.” - Craig T. Owens

“We do not need more opinions or hunches; we need the definitive declarations of our mighty and loving God. He governs the world according to these great and precious promises. Let’s be who we were made to be - People of the Promise. Let’s keep these promises handy. Praise Him out loud. Fill our lungs with air and hearts with hope and declare our belief in God’s goodness.” - Max Lucado

“Where God guides, He provides. No matter how things look, God is still in control. Stay in peace and be hopeful. Your blessing is coming soon.” - Germany Kent

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for prayer – the channel through which heaven is opened before us. How precious these moments are when we can tune our hearts and minds to You. Thank You for praise – we have so much to be thankful for, your goodness and mercy surely run after us daily. We thank You for Your protection, providence and care. Thank You for Your promises – they are a solace during dark times, and they help us to remember who we serve. Our faith also increases when we claim Your word and see it fulfilled. Thank You Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.”

“Every great movement of God can be traced to a kneeling figure.” - D.L. Moody

“The promise of a dreamer’s future will always remain greater than their present ability.” - Wayne Cordeiro

“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” - Corrie Ten Boom

“We don’t need a large army. We don’t need abundant resources. God’s presence tilts the scales in our favour.” - Max Lucado

Be blessed to be a blessing.
