Look on the Bright Side

To look on the bright side is “to be optimistic or cheerful in spite of difficulties.” Dictionary.com

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 reminds us that there is a time for everything and a purpose for everything under heaven. Knowing this then, we can expect that we will have moments of difficulty and challenges in our life span. Sometimes, it feels as though we are just collateral damage; pawns in someone else’s war; too small to be seen; too insignificant to be noticed.

Our outlook shapes how we face our obstacles. Our mind is the starting point. The lens through which we perceive the world influences us; even how we perceive God shapes our relationship with Him. With all the problems and uncertainties, the world has to offer, we can look on the Bright Side.

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again, rejoice!” Philippians 4:8

Having a love for rainbows has changed how I see rainy days. I no longer think about the weather, I just scan the sky to see if I will see it erupt in colours. I don’t know what may be causing you despair, but I know that God is able to see You through it all. Don’t lose hope.

Trust in God and look on the bright side.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, into the world to be the light we so desperately need. Help me also to look on the bright side and attune my heart to Your will. In Jesus name, Amen.
