The Lord is calming my restless mind and my troubled heart. He is healing what is causing stress and anxiety. He is granting me His peace, not the type that the world gives. Therefore, I am neither troubled nor afraid. John 14:27 (Personalized)
For a while I have asked God to be my peace. One might think I speak a lot about it. It has been a growth process and I’ve seen the effects of its absence. Every step forward can feel like you take two steps back, yet I endeavor to press forward and push through.
He is my peace when I reflect on the beauty of the Creator as I trace His Presence in His handiwork. The rainbow that stretches across the sky, the beautiful white clouds that dance and mirror the colors of the sunset to announce the end of another day.
The smell of the ocean or lush green landscapes or beautiful flowers. The sound of crashing waves reminding me that even though life ebbs and flows, He is in control of what happens to me.
He is my peace when I look at myself in the mirror and know that even as the grey hairs and wrinkles come in, He will not abandon me – His child. He is my peace, when I make Him my choice, when I choose to worship over worry; to press when distressed; to praise over fear.
As Thomas Watson mentions, ‘If God be our God, He will give us peace in trouble. When there is a storm without, He will make peace within.
The world can create trouble in peace, but God can create peace in trouble.’ Lord, thank you for Peace. Peace, perfect peace. Peace perfected when we trust and rely on You.
Help me not to worry because You know the end from the beginning, and I am knowing You. Take my hand and guide me through. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Philippians 4:6,7 TLB says ‘Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.’
Be blessed to be a blessing!
