The Lord has big plans for my life. He plans to prosper me, give me hope and a sure future. Jeremiah 29:11 (Personalized)
This week I looked at some of my favourite scripture passages and those that hold meaning to me. Jeremiah 29:11 is my first favourite text; so much so that all my journals have it printed on the front. I love this text because it gives me hope, hope of a good and sure future. Why do I love it so much? Because for the first time I saw that God said He does not mean us harm. It’s quite easy as a young child/teenager to have God portrayed as an exacting taskmaster. Eager to throw us into hellfire at the earliest slight. This text helped me to see God as compassionate, intentional and caring; longsuffering, not willing that any should perish.
Since 09/11, 2001, September has always been a bittersweet month for me as I carry grief with happiness. It keeps me humbled because life is a gift and no matter how well or badly, we may feel we are doing – with life there is hope.
I could also focus on all the things I have yet to accomplish, or I could be grateful for what I have in abundance. I’m grateful to God for being a Good Shepherd to me and the many blessings He sends my way. I lack nothing!
As I celebrate another year around the sun, I am looking to the future with hope of better things to come. New experiences to be had, beautiful rainbows and sunsets to capture and whatever else is in store for me.
How thankful am I for this reminder that God has big plans for my life.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for seeing another year. Moment by moment, day by day, year after year, time after time, You have come through for me. With a heart full of gratitude help me not to take Your love and Your gifts for granted. Thank You for memories gone and to be made. In Jesus name, Amen.

Be blessed to be a blessing!
