Get Ready to take Flight

Get Ready to take Flight - Illustration

If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me and Your right hand will hold me fast.” Psalm 139:9, 10 NIV

“Your steps are not random, and your path is not unnoticed.”

“Before God gives you a panoramic view of your purpose, He requires a season of altitude training.”

Another favorite text of mine is found in Habakkuk 3:19, “The Lord God is my strength, and He will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and He will make me walk upon mine high places.”

I love this text because it reminds me that God is my strength and positions me as He wills. When imposter syndrome sets in or when persons doubt my competence, I am reminded to place my confidence in the One who doesn’t always “call the equipped, but who also equips the called.”

“We know that we cannot do this work by ourselves. We never think that. But God makes us able to do it.” 2 Corinthians 3:5, EASY

Ask Moses, who felt he was “slow of speech and tongue” (see Exodus 4:10), but who God used to tell the Mighty Pharaoh, “Let my people go!” and to deliver His people.

Ask Jeremiah, who felt he was too young (See Jeremiah 1:6). God had to remind him whose He was. (See Jeremiah 1:4-9)

Ask Peter who denied Jesus. He was still given the charge to feed God’s sheep and to be a Rock to many, pointing them to the Rock which cannot be shaken.

Ask Esther, Rahab, Ruth, Miriam, Sarah, Mary and countless others who through their obedience helped to put God’s plan into motion.

One thing I’m learning is that to get ready to take flight, we have to be willing to let go, just like the bird must release its grip from the branch. We also don’t know what lies ahead, so trusting in God is paramount if we want to take the leap of faith.

Over the years, I have seen God’s positioning and I remain humble of where He has guided me. I have found strength in a community similar to the V-formation some birds make when they migrate. There, I can share the load and receive encouragement and support in moments of weariness and weakness.

Again, I can feel the winds of change and by experiential faith, I can only rely on God who has already prepared the way, but may now be preparing me.

“Don’t settle for walking when God has designed you to mount up with wings like eagles. Until you spread your wings, you have no idea how far you’ll fly.”

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for Your leading. You know the end from the beginning and You still consider us in everything You do, even though we are still lower than the angels. Help me to get ready to take flight and to walk upon the high places in Your strength and by Your Spirit. Nothing is impossible for You. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run; and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

“Take chances, make mistakes. That’s how you grow. Now, get ready to take flight.”

“The Lord my God is my strength, and He will make my feet like hind’s feet, and He will make me to walk upon mine high places.” Habakkuk 3:19

“Prepare your heart for the runway. The God who created the heavens is ready to help you take flight.”

Be blessed to be a blessing.
