D.A.N.C.E Then

Where You Are - Illustration

My back is to my past. My eyes are set on tomorrow. My mind is made up. I am moving forward, focused on this one goal: eternal life. Philippians 3:13-14 (Personalized)

Happy New Year!

New beginnings. New chances. New opportunities. New joys, new challenges.

This week’s devotional continues the thought of life as being like a dance. This analogy led me to think of an acronym for dance which I hope to utilize this year as I set goals. Our timing and guidance comes from the Lord of the dance. He is the One who leads us through other dancers and spaces, and helps us to correct our falls and missteps whilst learning to master new routines and levels.

So let’s D.A.N.C.E!

D-Dream

Dictionary.com defines a dream as “a cherished aspiration, ambition, or ideal.”

God has placed a dream in my heart. I am waiting for it with the assurance that it will be realized at the right time, even if it is delayed it will not be denied. Habakkuk 2:3 (Personalized)

What dream has God placed in your heart for this new year?

A-Activate and Accomplish

I am neither swaying nor swerving. I am holding on firmly to the hope of eternal security, because God always accomplishes His promise and purpose. Hebrews 10:23 (Personalized)

God wrote His plan of salvation and accomplished it. It was written in the stars as well as in the Bible. We are often admonished to write our dreams down and activate them into plans, so they are easy to accomplish. Let the journaling begin!

N-Navigate

As I tune my heart to Your promptings. As I listen to Your voice. I am hearing Your directions. I am responding to Your call. You are leading; You are guiding in the way that I should go. Isaiah 30:21 (Personalized)

Trust that the more you tune your heart to God, the more You’ll hear His Holy Spirit directing and leading you. Remember, God is the Lord of the Dance and He wants to lead you throughout this new year and beyond. Will you let Him?

C-Construct

I am God’s new creation in Christ Jesus. He is carrying out the good works in me, which He prepared me to do since I was born. Ephesians 2:10 (Personalized)

As you lay out your plans and pray for God’s leading and guidance; it’s time to build it into reality. Just like God has constructed His plan in each of us, He has also given us creative power to build what is required in our lives. May we work through and past the pain and fear to accomplish what is burning in our hearts to do.

E-Enjoy

I am living in the moment. Trusting God to provide. He takes care of the birds. He will take care of me. Matthew 6:26, 27 (Personalized)

The idiom, “Stop and smell the roses” means “to relax; to take time out of one’s busy schedule to enjoy or appreciate the beauty of life. To stop and smell the roses means intentionally slowing down, lifting your eyes, and paying attention. It’s noticing the little things that give life meaning, the moments that make you smile, pointing out what’s lovely amid everything else.” - Emily Lex

I plan to live in the moment this year and enjoy what life has to offer. To pause to breathe in the fresh year, look at the clouds, enjoy a good laugh and give thanks that I am not alone in this journey called life.

Dream! Activate and Accomplish! Navigate! Construct! Enjoy!

This is how I plan to dance through the year, what about you? Will you also D.A.N.C.E. then?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for visions and dreams. Give me strength and courage to turn them into reality. Help me to pause and celebrate along the way as I lay my Ebenezer stones. Help me to live in the moment not only grasping at the temporal things life has to offer, but to store up my treasure in heaven too. Thank You for seeing a new year. In Jesus name, Amen.

“It's a new day. Yesterday's failure is redeemed at the sunrise”. -Todd Stocker

We are still alive because the Lord’s faithful love never ends. Every morning he shows it in new ways! You are so very true and loyal! I say to myself, “The Lord is my God, and I trust him.” - Lamentations 3:22 - 24 ERV

If you can’t see His way past the tears, trust His heart. - Charles H. Spurgeon

Be blessed to be a blessing.
