Bring Joy to Life

Bring Joy to Life - Illustration

“I am finding satisfaction and gratification as I am asking, and God is providing for my good and His glory. James 4:2 (Personalized)

Ikigai (Japanese) – is defined as “a reason for living or a passion that brings value and joy to life. It can be described as the place where a person’s needs, desires, ambition and satisfaction meet. It’s often represented by a Venn diagram with four overlapping circles: what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for.”  Ai Overview.

“It’s a concept that encourages people to discover what truly matters to them and to live a life filled with purpose and joy.” Calm.com

Joy is one of the fruits of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22 to 23) God also promises us that in trial and in hard times, we can still count on joy. (James 1:2, Psalm 30:5) We find joy in God’s presence. He reveals to us the path He wants us to follow. (Psalm 16:11)

There are many things that bring me joy: seeing the rainbow stretch across the sky; the sound of the waves crashing on the seashore; sunsets vivid in colour and breathtaking; being in good company where I can laugh to my hearts’ content; using my talents in ministry where I can help alleviate someone’s distraught and mistrust. Life can get

burdensome and overwhelming, so finding gratitude helps me in these moments.

I can bring joy to life even when I face moments of despair and anxiousness; there’s no need to pretend. David reminds us in Psalms 94:17-19 NIV “Unless the Lord had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death. When I said, “My foot is slipping,” Your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought me joy.”

I can honestly say joy keeps me even when I may appear fretful or dismayed. It’s streams through as a steady tide with a constant reminder to be grateful. The joy of the Lord has become my strength. (Nehemiah 8:10)

I hope that with God, you can bring joy to your life too.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” Isaiah 12:3

“Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:8-9

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for everything that You do. Without You, we are nothing. Help me to find joy in the many blessings You give me each day. May Your joy overflow in everything I do because I am at peace. In Jesus name, Amen.”

“Be the kind of person with so much joy that your presence brings joy to others.” – Germany Kent

“Joy is all around you. It’s in the little moments that make life worth living; the sparks that light you up and leave you feeling good to be alive.” – Joanne Mallon

“Joy is God’s smile; love is God’s laughter.” – Matshona Dhilwayo

“Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” John 16:24 NIV

Be blessed to be a blessing.
