Above and Beyond

Above & Beyond - Illustration

In my most troubling times and during my hard seasons, God is supporting me through them. He is giving me the strength to move beyond them and He is delivering me from them without harm. Isaiah 43:2 (Personalized)

August 07 is one date where I revisit my Ebenezer stones that were laid as well as look to how far I have come. One of the benefits of journaling is that we get to commemorate and time stamp important moments in our walk. The Bible is God’s living journal!

I recall being at the foot of the mountain attempting to make what would seem an impossible climb. On one hand, I felt like I was leaving what I held dear whilst on another I was moving to an uncharted path.

All I had was an abiding trust in my reliance of God to see me through and claiming His promise that He knows the way. To make the climb I had to remove the baggage and weight that would keep me where I stood in the valley.

With painful, tearful steps I made the climb. Glimpses of things I once held onto becoming blurrier in the distance. Now, my faith was being realized as I stood at the top.

A breath of fresh air filling my lungs as I paused to reflect and take in full view of my surroundings. What did I see you may ask? More mountains to climb!!!! Yet, a most spectacular view.

A view where what was now my hindsight met in tandem with God’s foresight. Grateful for where I was and excited about where I was going, I grappled with the reality that there will always be mountains to climb.

There are always new heights to be attained; valleys to climb out of. That’s the power of growth and the beauty of growing, each level cannot be skipped because it readies us for the next.

“Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you’re climbing it.” - Andy Rooney

“The hardest mountain to climb is the one within”.- J. Lynn

“The summit is what drives us, but the climb itself is what matters.”- Conrad Anker

I don’t know what mountain you must climb, but what I do know is that God is willing to make the climb with you and see you over the next challenge. With a heart full of gratitude, the person you become makes the struggle pale in comparison.

So once again, I leave my Ebenezer stones, trusting in the God of above and beyond. As I journey forward, I hold His promise close:

“I am encouraging myself because God has brought me this far. I have further to go but it is good to pause and remember. It is good to stop and celebrate how far God has brought me.” 1 Samuel 7:12 (Personalized)

Dear Heavenly Father, I don’t know all that You have in store for me but this I do know that I can trust Your plan for my life. Thank You for the many lessons and obstacles I have overcome thus far.

Thank You for the patience and grace You have with me for the ones I am yet to overcome. Above and beyond, You alone are the One and True God. Thank You. In Jesus name, Amen.

“Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us—“ Ephesians 3:20 CSB (Christian Standard Bible)

Be blessed to be a blessing!
